How long are each appointments?

Each appointment lasts 50 minutes

What method of payment is taken? 

We accept all major debit and credit cards including:

Visa Credit, Visa Debit, Visa Electron, Mastercard, Maestro and American Express.

How long will treatment take?

It depends on the individual, some treatments only take 6 weeks, while other people attend for a year and a half if their difficulty is more deeply rooted.

Is there a waiting room?

Yes, there is a waiting room.

Who do I contact in an emergency?

If you are having suicidal thoughts that you may act on please call 999 or go to A&E.

What should I do if I experience distress outside of the session?

The clinic does not provide emergency support. In cases of emergency or high distress it is advisable to make contact with the emergency services in your area.

Samaritans is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for anyone struggling to cope.

My family member needs help, can you force them to come to therapy? 

No, we can only offer appointments when the individual is wanting to engage.

Will I have work to do in-between appointments?

Yes, you will be recommended work to build on in-between appointments to help you generalise skills, build on your progress and to help you achieve your therapy goals

Who can refer?

The Consulting Clinic accepts referrals from GP’s, Psychiatrists and self referrals.

Is there a cancellation policy?

The clinic reserves the right to charge the full fee in the event of a missed appointment or a cancelled appointment with less than 48 hours notice.

Can I change my appointment to another time in the week?

Yes you can change your appointment time subject to availability. However, we require 48 hours notice to facilitate changes.

Do you offer early morning and evening appointments?

Yes. The clinic offers early morning, day and evening appointments.  Please call the clinic to check availability.

Receipts

It is advised to liaise with your insurance company prior to commencing treatment.

Please keep your receipts in order to claim a portion of the costs against your tax credits at the end of the year. The Med 1 form can be obtained here: Med 1 Form
