Dr Sinéad Ní Chaoláin BA (Hons) Psychology, PhD Psychology, PGDip Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy, Doctorate Clinical Psychology
Sinéad has 6+ years experience, in both her roles as Psychotherapist and Clinical Psychologist, of providing assessment, intervention and support to children and adults across a variety of settings, including community mental health, residential care, and hospital care settings, including liaison and end of life care. She has experience in providing a safe and non-judgemental space for individuals experiencing a wide variety of difficulties and with a range of complex support needs. Concurrent to her work with The Consulting Clinic, Sinéad works full-time in a large not-for-profit mental health service providing both inpatient and community-based care.
Sinéad’s prior training as a Humanistic and Integrative psychotherapist continues to inform her approach. She has a grounding in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and has completed training in Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy, Somatic Experiencing, Schema Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Compassion Focused Therapy. Sinéad is currently working towards accreditation in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy.
Sinéad has a keen interest in research and presented her PhD research at numerous national and international conferences, and was awarded PSI National Postgrad Prize in 2010. Sinéad has been published, recently submitted and is currently preparing further material from both her PhD and DClinPsy theses for submission to academic peer reviewed journals.
