Dr Lisa McGrath, B.A (Psychology) MSc. Applied Psychology, DClinPsych
Dr Lisa is a Clinical Psychologist with a number of years’ experience providing assessment and intervention for people across the lifespan in diverse clinical settings, including adult mental health, child primary care and disability services. Lisa has experience of providing a client centred approach in a safe, non-judgemental space for individuals to explore their difficulties. Alongside her work with The Consulting Clinic Lisa also works full time in an acute hospital setting supporting people with chronic health conditions.
Dr Lisa provides an integrative approach drawing on her knowledge of relational, cognitive and behavioural and compassion focused therapies all the while maintaining strengths based approach. Lisa has completed training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and has extensive experience facilitating groups drawing on an attachment perspective.
Dr Lisa was involved in a nationwide research project exploring experiences of respite services in Ireland. She has completed theses as part of her degree and masters training and presented at the Psychological Society of Ireland Annual Congress of Psychology Students in Ireland. Lisa is currently preparing material from her DClinPsych thesis for submission to academic peer reviewed journals. Lisa has played a role in service evaluation and development and the outcomes will be presented for submission to peer reviewed journals in due course.
